National Civic Leadership Forum 2020

Saturday, September 12 - Sunday, September 20, 2020

#NCLF2020 is now over!

What is the goal of NCLF2020? To create a community platform for all AAPI organizations and leaders to interact, to work together, to learn from each other and to build trust so that our community can be more united. With the “Power of We”, we will be able to make a difference in 2020 and beyond.

The 2020 NCLF virtual community platform is built on the grassroots, bottom-up submission of ideas and proposals. The ownership of 2020 NCLF platform belongs to our diverse multi-cultural groups covering seven or more ethnicities that provided the content and delivery of the event sessions.

AdvancED Consulting, LLC was proud to be the selected Event Coordinator for this 9-day national, virtual conference!

Thank you to Asian American Unity Coalition (AAUC), Civic Leadership USA (CLUSA), and Ding Ding TV!

ENJOY HEALING ACTIVITIES

Did you miss the healing activities shared during the conference?

Find them below! A huge thank you again to Adelina Tancioco of Surrendered Healing for coordinating this incredible lineup of Healers of Color!
Day 1: Experience a guided meditation by Adelina Tancioco of Surrendered Healing. This short meditation will support you in connecting with your intention for the conference and be even more ready to receive all the great speakers, workshops, and experiences we have planned for you!

Day 2: To begin your morning, David Wei of Wudang West Cultural Heritage Center will be guiding us through a short qigong form called “Yin Yang Jing Luo QiGong”/Yin Yang Meridian Breath Work. By focusing on the breath and body movements, we’ll quiet the mind, calm the spirit, and heal the body.

Day 3: To refresh your energy we invite you to take a moment to “reset” your body with Kimberly Ky of Freedom Yoga. Whether you are still holding onto yesterday or today has already thrown you a curveball, there is always time to return to a clear and centered state. This concise and complete movement and energy practice will get your body, mind, spirit online and in sync so that you are functioning optimally.

Day 4: To begin your morning, we invite you to learn from Taiji instructor Virada Chatikul a basic Taiji movement to release tension, relax the muscles, and increase joint mobility. They are a form of martial arts self-healing "drills" to get qi flowing - not unlike Mr. Miyagi’s “wax on, wax off” moves in the Karate Kid.

Day 5: To support you in making room for the rest of this amazing forum, we invite you to learn from Susan Mai Lee Her, a Hmong Shaman. Learn a simple practice to clear your mind and energy and leave feeling uplifted!

Day 6: Welcome to day 6 of NCLF 2020! To begin your day, we invite you to learn from Joshua Flores, as he teaches you a Wing Chun kung fu practice to get grounded in your own body so that you can be present to any situation at hand and respond accordingly.

Day 7: Feeling tired, or even restless? We invite you to awaken and align your energy through sound healing with Jasmin Ancheta, Founder of Good Karma Yoga. Sound healing is a form of meditation that strengthens neural pathways, activates your brain's state of deep meditation, and puts the body in a parasympathetic state where it can heal and restore. Sit back, relax and let the magic happen!

Day 8: We encourage you to join Kimberly Ky of Freedom Yoga Union City to support you in a short breathing exercise to give you the energy you need to end the forum strong!

Day 9: To begin your morning, we invite you to enjoy a soothing and relaxing 10-minute soundscape from AstraLogik using organic and electronic sound frequencies to reground into breathe and presence. During this soundscape, the active listening can guide the body to move through, release, or make known the energy that exists through the mind, body & spirit.
